The short version
Rhem uses an onboard AI compute module so that voice, vision, and health-support processing can happen locally on the robot. Because of this design, we do not send your raw health readings, voice audio, or wellness images to third-party AI companies for general model training. Cloud connectivity is used only for the specific features that need it — and we tell you which ones below.
Using this website
The sections below also describe the robot and companion app. This website provides product information, community signup, hosted checkout and access to My orders. The private link in your order email opens your order summary. A separate setup code in that email unlocks personal order details, welcome recordings and Wi-Fi settings. Keep both the link and code private. You may optionally submit an audio or video welcome message and Wi-Fi details for device setup; those submissions are described below.
- Community and product news — By joining the Rhem Labs community, you agree to receive community emails. You can unsubscribe at any time. If you join the Rhem Labs community, your email, name if provided, signup source, and the time and version of your permission are sent to Resend for breakfast clubs, events, and updates. Earlier product-news signups keep their original permission scope. Community signup is optional and does not require a purchase; buying does not automatically subscribe you. Use the unsubscribe link in an email or contact support@rhem.ai from your signup address to withdraw.
- Halo launch notifications — If you request Halo launch emails, we send your email address, signup source, and the time and version of your permission to Resend. This permission covers Halo launch notifications and does not enroll you in community emails. Existing unsubscribe preferences remain in place. Use the unsubscribe link in an email or contact support@rhem.ai from your signup address to withdraw.
- Applications — Applications submitted through the former careers form include contact details, answers, optional links, and any uploaded résumé sent through Resend to the configured recruiting inbox for application review. Submitting an application does not subscribe you to marketing.
- Global ordering availability — If you join the global Rhem community from checkout, we also save your selected country or region with your email permission in Resend so we can email you when ordering opens there. Joining is free and does not create an order or require payment.
- Contact and demo enquiries — The contact popup sends your name, email address, subject, message, and the page you contacted us from through Resend to support@rhem.ai so we can respond. This does not subscribe you to marketing. Please do not include passwords, payment card details, or sensitive health information.
- Visitor support chat — Intercom provides Messenger on public pages. It receives browser and network information, the pages where Messenger runs, and messages or contact details you choose to share in chat. Cookies keep the conversation available in your browser. We do not automatically send your account ID, name, email, or account creation date. Please do not share passwords, payment card details, or sensitive health information in chat. See the Cookie Policy for storage details.
- Payments — When you continue to checkout, we save your email, recipient name, full delivery address, selected product and quantity, language, submission time and policy version in encrypted private storage hosted by Vercel. We retain these details even if shipping is not available or you do not pay, to understand delivery demand and plan regional availability. For eligible destinations, we also save your email and delivery address with Stripe to prepare your order. Stripe hosts checkout, collects billing details and handles payment. Saving delivery details does not subscribe you to community or marketing emails. We use the checkout reference to verify payment and send order receipts through Resend. The website does not receive your full card number.
- Hosting and content — Vercel hosts the website and blog assets. Images or video may load from external content hosts. Providers receive network information such as IP address and browser details when serving requests. Security controls temporarily use hashed identifiers to limit repeated submissions.
- Optional website feedback — If you submit the order-page survey, we store your selected reason, optional comment, product, device category, survey trigger, ordering stage, approximate time on the page, and submission time in our private hosted database. We use these responses to understand purchase concerns and improve the website. No name or email is required. Please do not include personal or health information in your comment.
With your permission, PostHog measures page visits, product interactions, signup actions and checkout progress using random browser identifiers. It receives browser and network information, including your IP address. We exclude private order and admin pages, form entries and URL query strings. Masked session recordings cover public product and editorial pages; text and inputs are masked, and forms, support chat and payment-confirmation pages are excluded from recordings. You can withdraw analytics permission at any time. See our Cookie Policy and reopen Cookie preferences in the footer to review browser storage.
Our public website and five campaign landing pages offer a separate, optional advertising choice. If you accept, the Meta browser Pixel measures public website visits, product views, successfully prepared checkouts and paid purchases verified on our campaign confirmation page. The Pixel can receive your IP address, browser information, page URL, referrer and Meta cookie identifiers. Our explicit event parameters contain generic Rhem product details, event identifiers, currency and the product subtotal excluding tax and shipping. We do not add names, email addresses, delivery addresses, form answers or device conversations to those parameters. The browser Pixel can collect information in page URLs. We remove the checkout reference from the campaign confirmation address before loading it; it does not load on private order pages or main-site payment confirmation pages. Your advertising choice lasts up to 180 days and is separate from analytics permission. You can withdraw it through Cookie preferences; withdrawal stops future Pixel events but does not automatically delete events Meta already received. See our Cookie Policy for storage and privacy controls.
For questions about how long website submissions are kept, requests to access or delete your information, or information about applicable processing and transfer arrangements, contact privacy@rhem.ai.
1. Who this applies to
This policy covers the Rhem robot, the Rhem companion app and mini-program, and the rhem.ai website. It applies to the account holder who sets up the device and to each family member whose profile is added to it. If you add a family member's profile, you are responsible for having their permission to do so.
2. Data we collect
Account information
- Your name, email, and login credentials.
- Family member profiles you create: name, age or date of birth, gender, nickname, and avatar.
- Device records, such as your robot's serial number and which account it is bound to.
Optional order setup
When you use My orders, we associate your purchase with the email address entered at checkout. You may choose to record or upload a welcome message and provide the Wi-Fi network name and password for each Rhem. These details are optional and are used to prepare that device. Only share a recording or network credentials that you have permission to use.
Health-support data
- Wellness measurements you capture: blood pressure, heart rate, SpO₂, body temperature, respiratory rate, ECG indicators, and CBC indicator readings.
- Wellness images captured by the robot's camera when you choose to take them.
- The history, trends, and reminders built from these measurements over time.
Interaction data
- Voice requests you make to the robot, and text you type into the app chat.
- Reminders, intercom usage, and SOS configuration you set up.
- Device status: battery, network, firmware version, and basic diagnostics.
A note on what Rhem is
Rhem provides health-support and wellness tracking. It is not a diagnostic medical device, and the data it collects is wellness data, not a clinical medical record. Rhem does not diagnose conditions or replace professional medical judgment.
3. On-device processing comes first
Rhem is built around a dedicated onboard AI compute module. This lets a meaningful amount of work — interpreting voice, reading sensor inputs, driving expressions, and running supported AI workflows — happen on the robot itself, closer to you and away from the cloud.
The practical result is that your raw health readings, voice audio, and wellness images are processed locally for these features. We do not hand your health data to third-party AI providers to train their general-purpose models.
4. When data leaves the device
Some features need the internet to work. We want to be precise about which ones, so you can make informed choices:
- Optional pre-delivery setup — welcome recordings and Wi-Fi details you submit through My orders are sent to our server and encrypted before being saved in private storage. Authorized fulfillment staff can access them to prepare your Rhem. You can replace or remove these details until preparation for shipment begins; contact support@rhem.ai afterward. Saved Wi-Fi passwords are not displayed in the order portal or included in email.
- Account sync & family sharing — profiles, reminders, and the health history shown in the app are synced so approved family members can see them.
- Software updates & diagnostics — firmware updates and device-health signals are exchanged with our backend.
- Optional cloud AI extensions — certain advanced or text-chat features may route a request to an external AI service. When a feature does this, it is the request you typed or asked — not a bulk export of your health archive.
- Nearby search & weather — location-aware features query third-party services to return local results.
- SOS alerts — when triggered, an alert is sent through our backend to your pre-set emergency contacts.
Where a feature can run either locally or in the cloud, we prefer local. Where the cloud is required, we limit what is sent to what the feature actually needs.
5. How we use your data
- To provide the features you turn on: tracking, reminders, voice Q&A, intercom, family coordination, and SOS support.
- To show your health history and trends back to you and the family members you approve.
- To keep the device working: updates, troubleshooting, and customer support.
- To improve product reliability, using aggregated or de-identified signals wherever feasible.
We do not sell your personal or health data. We do not use your health data to serve you advertising.
7. Sensor & radar data
Rhem's safety sensing uses millimeter-wave radar together with positioning algorithms to support presence, motion, fall-risk, and distress detection — including breathing- and heartbeat-related signals and body-position changes. This is done without a camera, which we chose specifically to protect your privacy.
The robot's cameras are used only for wellness image capture that you initiate, and, optionally, during an active SOS event if an emergency contact you designated chooses to open the camera after answering the alert. The camera is not a continuous surveillance feed.
8. Telehealth & professional care
Connecting to licensed telehealth providers is a planned integration we intend to deliver as a software update after the robot ships. When telehealth is available, any information you choose to share with a provider through the app will be handled under the provider's own privacy practices in addition to ours, and we will update this policy with the specifics before the feature goes live.
9. Security
We protect data in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption, and we restrict internal access to systems that handle personal or health data.
10. Your rights & controls
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. From the app you can:
- View, edit, and remove family member profiles.
- Review and delete stored measurements and history.
- Turn intercom, location features, and optional cloud AI extensions on or off.
- Unbind the device or transfer it to a new owner.
To make a formal data request, email privacy@rhem.ai. We will verify your identity before acting and respond within the timeframe required by your local law.
11. Children & dependents
Rhem is intended to be set up and managed by an adult account holder. A profile may be created for a dependent in the household, but it is managed by the responsible adult, who is accountable for that person's data. We do not knowingly let minors create their own independent accounts.
12. International transfers
Rhem Labs operates across regions, including an office in Germany. Where data is transferred across borders, we use appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law to protect it.
13. Changes to this policy
We will update this page as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, communicated in the app.
